Well, It had been quite awhile since I have had time to post something on my blog. Finished cleaning out my classroom today and Oh, my goodness.
I have made a big decision about my teaching career. I have decided to retire after 28 years of teaching. I have looked forward to this day for many years, but when it comes right down to making the move and that LEAP OF FAITH, it is really pretty tough to do. I did go ahead upon Faith and DO IT!!! I spoke to my superintendent yesterday and she was such a sweetheart. She made me feel so good. I really didn't want anyone to make a big deal of my retirement and she understood. She said that she and the school would really miss me. I will really miss the little kiddos, that I enjoyed everyday. Of course there are the ones that I won't miss much, but others that I really will miss seeing. My last year was a very rewarding one, with a very beautiful group of children. I am so thankful to the Lord for being able to touch their lives with my teaching. Also, in making this decision, I used to enjoy teaching so much, when the state and government was not so involved in eveything and you could plan some wonderful themematic units of study for the kids. Now, everything is so mandated and it is not even enjoyable to me anymore. I missed being able to do the fun and creative things that I used ot do in my classroom. So now, I believe I will get started on a second career, just not sure what I will do. I would love to start a business, junks and crafts, and maybe write a children's book....... Let's see, where should I start first..
