Fun at GinGin's

Our precious grandbaby came to stay with us a couple of weekends ago.  We had so much fun!!  We cooked waffles the next morning.  He is such a good boy.  I had gone to a barrel race with Shani, to keep W) and when I was leaving their house, I asked him if he wanted to come home with me and he said yes. I thought he would probably cry when we headed out of the driveway, but he was actually fine the whole time he was with us.  We did take him home the next day, but we're ready for him to come back soon.

Had a Blast in Roundtop!!

I am so lucky to have this special and kind of unique relationship with my best friend Tracy. You see she and I are best friends and our daughters are the same age and they are BFF's also!!! Isn't it crazy. Well, the first of this month we decided to all meet up at my house and head down by the Texas capital and attend this wonderful antique alley at Roundtop, TX. It was absolutely delightful. We had a wonderful, CRAZY time with our 19 year old daughters. Hope we get to do this again before too long.

Huntin'

Shani and Jack found out very quickly that Wes likes everything that guys like to do. They took him out while the guys were shootin skeet and he LOVED it. He also loves to play cowboys and indians with his mama. They play and he says "dang" "dang", instead of bang, bang. He is just the cutest!!! We got to see him last weekend and we hadn't seen him for a couple of weeks. It was so fun and he is starting to talk more and more. That's when his daddy and grandad decided that he needed a Red Ryder gun, with no B B's in it. It's taller than he is, but he doesn't want anybody messin' with his gun.

Just had to post something with this picture since it was so cool.

LOOK AT W ON THE TUBE!

He absolutely loved it!!! Just kept taking and talking! GinGin went real slow and he had mommie and Aunt Holly right there with him. Isn't it amazing how much he has grown since last summer. Such a little boy now! We always have so much fun with him when we are all together. We had another great time at the lake, but the guys didn't catch many fish and they fished all night one night, I think it wore the old grandpa KB out. He was trying to keep up with the young guys, HAHA. I got to spend the night with Shani and sleep in W's bed. It was late when we got to their house cause he had a tummy ache and needed some medicine which we didn't have at the lake, so we went to their house. It was nice to stay at their house for the night and the next morning Wes said, GinGin, come here, talking about me coming into Shan's bed and gettin in bed with them. Then I got to laugh and play with him. He's really a morning kid, gets that from Great Granddad Mac. Well, got to go think about school.

Tracy's B and B

Tracy's new home is just beautiful and she has such a knack for decorating. It seems like however she places decorations they just look perfect. Here is the precious bedroom where we stayed it is decorated for her daughter.

Whatcha workin on Wednesday

I love to make jewelry. I would love to sell some, but it seems like whenever I get something made either I want to keep it or give it to my daughters. These are just a few of the pieces that I have made.

Hope you enjoy seeing some of my projects.

I LOVE MY KB

We were able to go see the kids about 35 miles away on Saturday and we love to eat at a mexican restaurant there, so while we were eating little man got kind of tired of sitting so KB took him to look at the games. There was one with a steering wheel and one with a gun so he and KB played those a while.

The last time little man came to our house to spend the night we had a good time outside.

He loved the kitties and walking barefoot in the grass in the backyard. See GinGin, I'm trying to hold the kitty so good! I just might be holding

him a little tight. But I love him! I sure had a good time with my Aunt Holly. Then my mommy and daddy came and all the big kids had a water fight, I think my daddy got Aunt Holly REALLY GOOD! HAHA

BLUE HAD HER BABY

Our blue roan mare had her colt last night, I guess. It is a red roan horse colt with a blaze face and stocking feet. She seems to always make us wait so long. Shani is headed out there to the pasture where the mares and colts are. I will have pictures as soon as Shani sends some to me. I hear he is really a pretty colt. Shani took these pictures when she went to the pasture. She told Wes, "Oh, it's a bitty baby!" and he said "Ohhhhhhhhh". He loves the horses. He has really pretty markings and he will be a good horse. Just like his brother from last year. KB said it was about time to geld Ringo.

When will Blue have her Baby?

Our blue roan mare had her last year's colt exactly a month after Wes was born and we thought she would have her baby at the same time as he was born. She always fools us. We have been waiting on this new baby for a month it seems like. So Shan and Wes go and check on her almost everyday. I feel so sorry for her. I know she is ready to have her baby, and just think human ladies we could have to carry our babies for almost a year. YUCK!!!!! I think 9 months is plenty long enough. I'm sure Shani's best friend who was due this week would totally agree with me.

This picture was taken last week when Shan and Wes went out to the ranch where blue is to check on her. She loves Wes and WEs loves all the horses, and he is definitely used to them, as you can see.
This is Blue's last years horse colt. He is one beautiful colt and he loves Wes too. When he was born at our house we were trying to thing of a name and KB named him tally, cuz his tally-wacker was always hanging out. Well, when the kids took him to their place to wean him they decided to name him Ringo. So here is Tally-Ringo. He is one good looking colt.

My Cosmetologist Does a Beautiful Job

Holly has been working so hard to finish cosmetology school this summer. She is very good at making all of us look beautiful!! My mom and Dad have been coming over every other week to get haircuts, etc. She really does a great job with all the family hair. They sure do have to work hard in school. The haircuts are $5.00 and the pedicures are $10. So if you want a bargain go to the cosmetology school and get beautiful.

Holly and my dad share the same birthday, so at the end of June we had a celebration!!! Mom and Dad live in a townhouse complex that has a pool, so we all enjoyed being at their home to celebrate. We had great friends and family over, great food, and great fun.

I love being with family!!

Got to spend a little time with my mom, dad and oldest daughter today!!! We did travel around to a few towns down here, but we're not but about 30 or 40 miles from many great cities in Central Texas. Shani came to Hillsboro, picked me up and we took their boat to Cleburne to have a little work done on it. Mom and Dad came from Waco and were headed to Target in Waxahachie to get a little chest freezer for their house. So we all met in Waxahachie for lunch. It was lots of fun just to spend some time and let Wes entertain us all.

It's About Time !!!!

I have not been paying much attention to my blog. I got to meeting old high school chums on facebook and it has been lots of fun, in fact two of them only live 30 miles from me and we grew up together 9 hours away. We even got to have lunch together a couple of weeks ago. It was great to catch up and we can still talk on facebook. Also, I've been so busy looking at all the wonderful blogs and things I can learn and do that I've not had much time for my own blog. I will try to keep this going as often as I can.

I have been having a wonderful summer. I got to go to Corpus Christi and see my BF Tracy and we had a wonderful time together. Hoping to go back before summer is over. She is doing so good. I have also gotten to spend time with my little grandson and my daughters. Also, its been so nice to see my mom and dad every few days.

Birthdays at 50 and 75!!! Wow what a March

My mom and have both have birthdays in March only 4 days apart. We have always had wonderful celebrations together, but this year is especially special since she turned 75 and I turned 50. Wow, I hate to say that I am fifty, but I am a grandma you know, and I love saying I'm a grandma. Anyway, we had several celebrations. I had mom and dad over for supper on her birthday and they had us over on my birthday, then we were able to have the our our girls and the rest of the family get together at a steakhouse in a neighboring town. There is a great little town that is a short driving distance for all of us, even though we all live in three different towns. So here's to birthday's, the FIRST, the FIFTIETH, and the SEVENTY-FIFTH!!!! Wow what a year!
These pictures are kind of cool showing my mom holding W when he was a tiny baby, and me holding him at 1 year old at the zoo this week.

Valentine's Day Cutie

We had such a wonderful Valentine's night with our precious grandson and his mommy and daddy. We went to the Outlaw Steakhouse where they joined us. After a great steak dinner we looked in on the dance that we could not attend because they were sold out. But, we were able to just listen to some music during a break and he is loving to "dance" now. It is so funny and just hysterical. After dancing a little we found a little car in the arcade area. He loved it the first time and had to stand up as he thinks he is so big and is starting to walk everywhere. But when daddy put in another quarter, he was done!!!!!He is so funny and a blast even when he is upset.

8 Ramdon Things about ME!!

Gin at Keepsake Moments tagged me to list 8 random things about me, so I will try to think of 8 interesting things about me.

1. I love cats. I have had an indoor cat for most of my life, but due to allergies that several of my family members have, I can't have a cat inside now. So I usually have a cat outside, but many times they don't survive too long because we live in the country and there are so many coyotes. I do have a precious KIKI now that I got from craigslist. She is a sweetheart and she sleeps with the two precious dogs on the backporch on my wicker loveseat. They are all just precious animals that I love.

2. I am looking forward to retirement. It may be 5-7 years down the road, but I am sure hoping that I can retire from teaching someday. I have really enjoyed my years as a teacher, but it seems to get harder every year either dealing with so many learning disabilites, or the difficult parents. Thankfully I don't have the extremely difficult parents every year, but when I do, it is the pits!!!

3. I am very excited about my best friend at
Cawfee Tawk who is going to be moving down to live in this area as soon as she gets everything together to get out town. I know that she will really enjoy the move and it will totally change her life.

4. I love to shop at Goodwill, junk stores, garage sales, antique stores, e-bay and craigslist. I am a junk junky. It is like a treasure hunt. I could do it all the time if I had the money.

5. My oldest daughter was a rodeo trick rider during her summers of high school. She did the death drag where she hung by her feet dragging along beside the horse the horse with her head hangin down and he hair sometimes touching the ground of the rodeo arena. She did the Hippedrome or Liberty stand where she stood up on the horse and held the American Flag around the arena.

6.My youngest daughter showed the Reserve Grand Champion Hog in her first Stock Show her freshman year of High School. Then the next year when her dad was the teacher she was not able to show because her hog got a rare disease called joint pneumonia and couldn't show him. It was heart breaking to her. She was able to participate the next two years and had a blast!

7. I love to help others and try to be a peacemaker whenever there is a problem and someone is not getting along. I wish that I could become a counselor.

8. I hate exercise, and having to diet. I know that I need to do both, but they are just not fun to me and I can think of all kinds of excuses not to do them. Even though I plan to do both almost every morning. I'm going to be dieting this next week. Salad and Chicken, every day for lunch.

What a CRAZY DAY AT SCHOOL!!!

With a thick sheet of ice on all highways around here. School started 2 hours late. Teachers were to be there at 9:30. Students came at 10 am. Second graders go to lunch at 11:00 am, so we didn't have much time to get rolling when it was time to get ready for lunch. Then, about 10:45 the electricity flickers 2-3 times and we have no electricity. Now it's time to go to restr
oom and wash hands. Well our restrooms are VERY VERY dark without electricity and you can't see a thing, so lets get out the Germ X and we're ready for lunch. After returning back down the hall to start eating my lunch, hear from the office that it is a major power outage and we might not have power before 2:oo pm. The office starts to call parents to come and get kids. Then about 11:25 am the electricity comes on. But since calls have already been made, we will go ahead and dismiss at 12:30.

What mass confusion today!!! Now tomorrow we are scheduled an early dismissal for the Stock Show. This week has been a crazy one!!! Let's get back to some normalism (don't believe that is a word). I've only got about 80 days to get these kids ready for third grade!!!

What's the Best Way To Spend a Weekend

Got to keep precious grandbaby this weekend and it was so MUCH FUN!!! He is absolutely darling. He is also a perfect angel when he stays here. He was so good.He let me read books to him and rock him to sleep. I could have rocked him for the whole two days. They grow up so fast it won't be long before he won't let us rock him. I had a fabulous weekend playing with my darling grandson.

He enjoyed playing with this little table and chairs that I painted when his mama was a little toddler. It is supposed to be the Three Bears Cottage and the Little Chairs, are Momma Bear, Baby Bear and our Pappa Bear is in the shed, as it needs some repair work. Anyway my girls loved to sit here and play for a little while. Wes being a typical little boy loves to walk around the table and crawl on it. He did like to talk baby talk to the Baby Bear Chair.

We had a wonderful time and I know his mommie and daddy had a good time out with their friends too. This was the first time they left him overnight except for the time everyone had the terrible virus about two months ago. They came to get him about 2:00 this afternoon and when they pulled into the drive way I walked out the front door to meet them and his momma was so excited to see him, as he was very excited to see her too. She really missed him. She is such a wonderful mother!!! I am so proud of her. It's hard to work everyday and leave you baby. At least she has her mother-in-law to take such wonderful care of her baby boy.

Well, GinGin better go and get some rest for my 20 other children in class tomorrow. I get called Grandma there too. Which is perfectly fine, because being a grandma is one special fantastic job!!

My Lumly Saddle is gone to a collector who has 20 of them!!!!

I'm so glad that a collector bought my saddle. It's great when someone with a collection finds another one for their collection. The husband and wife who bought the saddle live in Cushing, Oklahoma where the saddle was made. They drove down here to purchase it from us. The were very nice people.
I sold the ropes too and I think that was a roper who was going to use them. I'm so glad to make a little extra money.

Band From TV

This band is great. I saw them on Jay Leno last night and they are a bunch of actors from tv that have put a band together and they have a band that performs mainly for charity. They were really good. The House tv show star Hugh Laurie plays the keyboard and he was Jay's guest last night and I thought the band was fantastic, so I'm going to purchase their cd-dvd, "Hoggin All the Covers" today. I think it will be great. See them at Band from TV.org

Oh, I do love Craig-- Collectibles for sale

I love craigslist. I have decided to sell some of my collectibles that I am not really using anymore and I have listed on e-bay before, but found craiglist and love to buy from there and love to list there since it doesn't cost like e-bay. I have this old handmade saddle and some used ropes that son-in-law didn't used anymore and some other items that I think are great. Take a look if you go to craiglist. Check out these items if you are interested.

God is Good

We have had a wonderful holiday!!! This vacation break from school has been terrific. All of the family here for Christmas. We had had a wonderful Christmas day and I was just trying on the beautiful shawl that my Aunt Wanda sent me for Christmas, prancing around when there was a knock on the door and I could not imagine who was coming to the door, thought it was a neighbor from down the road. When I looked up who should appear but my darling, best friend Tracy from back home. She was laughing so hard by the surprised look on my face and the loud scream. She made the ending to a great day even better. Then we had such a fun rest of the week. We went to Waco twice. We put away Christmas decorations and rearranged my living room. She is so good at this type of thing. She needs to be an interior decorator. The she helped me repaint the spare bedroom and arrange the furniture and wall decor. My house looks beautiful thanks to Tracy's Interior Design. Love ya, Trac!!! I am so anxious for her to make her move to our area and start a new life. I know this is hard for her, but I am praying that it will be exactly what she needs to do.
