Christmas Traditions
Sugar Cookies
This is a sugar cookie recipe that I used when I was the Home Economics Teacher at Hartley, TX. We had a fund raiser and made giant personalized heart shaped cookies at Valentines. These cookies turn out very good and taste delicious!! I wanted the recipe to be saved somewhere, so thought this blog would be the best place to do this.
It has been a tradition in our family since my girls were very little to make sugar cookies with their Nanny and cousins. So we have carried on the tradition since we moved down here to Central, Texas.
I know that all the cousins are carrying on this tradition, whether it is still with Nanny, or their grandmother's, or with their Aunts!!! Love this special tradition. Thanks so much Nanny!!
This is the recipe that we use down here in central Texas.

Icing.
Powdered sugar, about 1/2 to 1 bag of powdered sugar, probably a whole bag with this amount of cookies. Add melted butter 1 stick, 1 tsp vanilla, and 4 T. milk. Adding more milk as necessary to make an icing that you can spead and decorate with. Add desired sprinkles and decorations.
