I'll start with my MIL recipe for Turkey and Dressing..
Starting with the turkey: She always cooks her turkey in a Turkey Roasting Bag. She makes sure to thaw the turkey in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. It will take a while for a turkey to thaw in the refrigerator. After thawed take to the sink and unwrap. Take out inside package and neck. There are items in each end, be sure to remove. to the cavity of the bird, add 1/2 orange, celery stalks, and onion.on the outside salt, pepper, lightly flour and can lay bacon on top. Roast according to directions on the turkey package. low and slow according to the size of the bird.
Delicious and moist. Cook Turkey breast down in a turkey bag
Dressing by Nanny:
Dry bread, 1/4 cornbread, onions, and celery to fill a small bowl. Saute these in 1 stick butter in the microwave. 1 onion, several stalks of celery. Boil giblets real slow all morning. Pour 3/4 of juice in bread . Stir in 3 eggs and add milk to fill. Add salt, pepper and sage enough to taste. Poultry seasoning. Bake at 350 degrees til done.
Pecan Pie
3 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 t. vanilla
3 T. butter, melted
1 cup roughly chopped pecans.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 min. Reduce to 350 degrees and bake 1 hour. Just bake 30-40 min. more. Filling will be moist
Pumpkin Pie:
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 can libby's pumpkin
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 can evaporated milk
1 9 inch deep dish frozen pie shell
Preheat oven to 425. Combine filling ingredients in order given. pour into pie shell Bake 15 min. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bak an additional 45 min. or until knife inserted near center of pie comes out clean. Cool, Garnish with whipped topping.
